Return: A Lenten Journey Back to the Heart

Return: A Lenten Journey Back to the Heart is a guided invitation to come home to the deepest place within you— your heart —where God speaks, heals, and restores.

In the Catholic tradition, the heart is not merely the seat of emotion, but the center of the person: the place where intellect, will, memory, desire, and spirit converge. During this Lenten journey, you will be led into a richer understanding of this interior world and how to shepherd it with reverence and honesty while implementing your Lenten observances.

Through reflection, practical formation, and group discussion, this workshop will help you learn to recognize what is stirring within you, discern the movements of grace and resistance, and bring your whole heart before the Lord. Rather than ignoring, suppressing, or spiritualizing away interior experiences, you will be equipped with tools to engage them in a healthy, holy, and integrated way.

This journey is especially for those who long to grow in self-awareness, emotional and spiritual maturity, and a more intimate relationship with God. Whether you feel scattered, weary, or simply hungry for deeper connection with God, Return offers a path back to the place where transformation begins.

Lent is a season of repentance and renewal—but repentance in the biblical sense means to return.
Return to God.
Return to yourself.
Return to the heart.

Return: A Lenten Journey Back to the Heart is not about striving harder—it is about learning to go deeper, so God can meet you where He already dwells.

What to Expect

  • Let’s face it - we all feel a sense of disconnect and a lack of community in certain seasons of life. This experience is designed to provide community and the encouragement that comes from realizing, “Wow, I’m not the only person that struggles to be who God created me to be.” You are not alone!

  • There have been plenty of Lenten seasons where I’ve set out with big desires to invite God into a weak area of my life and to truly create space to receive his grace to transform my life in some way. Easier said than done! This workshop intentionally created and offers weekly sessions, specific weekly formation, and group sharing to help support you this Lent in a specifc and concrete way.

  • Do you love clarity and structure? You will enter Lent with specific intentions and receive a clear roadmap of topics and programming for each week’s session. Additionally, you’ll receive references to resources and further guidance which builds off of the weekly content.

  • Incorporating principles of psychology and theology, you’ll receive formation and tools to help you better understand what’s going on internally and how its either helping you or inhibiting you from living the Lent you’re aiming for!

  • Have you ever noticed internal obstacles that trip you up while pursuing your Lenten goals? The whole premise of the workshop is to notice and engage your heart - your thoughts, emotions, choices, desires, etc. - in order to grow in interior freedom.
